Aug 31 2022 Children’s Therapy Concepts Family and Community Resource Fair CTC Family and Community Resource Fair Saturday, September 24, 2022 ~ 10AM-2PM Portsmouth City Park The Infant & Toddler Connection (ITC) of Portsmouth and Children’s Therapy Concepts (CTC) hosts a community resource event in the fall for local residents. The Children’s Therapy Concepts Family & Community Resource Fair will be held on Saturday, September 24 from 10:00AM-2:00PM at Portsmouth City Park. The intent of the event is to bring awareness of local resources for families to the community. The event is free and open to the public. Invited to attend the event are area businesses, nonprofits and health care companies that offer specific services and recreation opportunities to families. Organizations attending will have representatives on-site to interact with visitors and discuss their organizations offerings. Each organization will provide a unique craft or activity to offer event guests.CTC therapists and companies will give presentations throughout the day that include Speech, Physical and Occupational therapy discussions. Each session will include relevant information on therapy topics and a Question and Answer component.The day will include food trucks on site for visitors to purchase refreshments. The Infant & Toddler Connection of Portsmouth, managed by Children’s Therapy Concepts, LLC is a part of the Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia. ITC is Virginia’s early intervention system for infants and toddlers (age 0-36 months) with disabilities and their families. Any infant or toddler in Virginia who isn’t developing as expected or who has a medical condition that can delay typical development is eligible to receive early intervention support and services under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).Early intervention support and services focus on increasing the child’s participation in family and community activities that are important to the family. In addition, support and services focus on helping parents and other caregivers know how to find ways to help their children learn during everyday activities.
