Meet Courtney!

Courtney Fairing, M.S. Ed., CCC-SLP, has been a registered Speech-Language Pathologist since 2015.  She is a graduate of Old Dominion University where she received her Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2015, and her Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology in 2013.  In her training, Courtney was afforded the opportunity to work with adults in an acute rehabilitation setting, treating patients with aphasia, cognitive impairments, and swallowing disorders, as well as working with vocal disorders and a variety of pediatric cases.  While in school, Courtney learned of Early Intervention programs when her younger brother was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and began therapy in home, further sparking her passion as a speech therapist.  She comes to Children’s Therapy Concepts with over three years experience working in the public school system, where she worked with pediatric ages ranging from toddlers through teens.  Courtney has experience working with children with Autism, developmental delays, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorders, behavioral needs, and hearing impairments to name a few.  She is well versed in articulation impairments, expressive and receptive language delays, language processing disorders, fluency disorders, and much more.  She enjoys being a part of a collaborative team, working closely with parents to help maximize success for her families and clients.  Courtney is also a PROMPT trained therapist, providing a unique approach to working with children with all speech production disorders from approximately 6 months of age onward.

Courtney is not only passionate about her career, but also strives to live and love life to the fullest each day.  When she is not working, Courtney can typically be found with family, helping raise her twin nieces, mentoring high school girls, or in the great outdoors.  She loves hiking, scuba diving, a good run, and going to beach, but also enjoys a night in catching up on her favorite shows and playing games with her family.  Courtney is thrilled to be a part of the team at Children’s Therapy Concepts and looks forward to helping families in the Hampton Roads area.
